영국 동부 서퍽주서 15세 청소년 등굣길에 총격받아 중태

(런던=연합뉴스) 박대한 특파원 = 영국의 한 10대 청소년이 등굣길에 총격을 받아 중태에 빠졌다.

7일(현지시간) 스카이 뉴스에 따르면 영국 동부 서퍽주의 케스그레이브에서 이날 오전 8시 40분께 총격 사건이 발생했다.

이 지역 케스그레이브 고등학교에 다니는 15세 청소년이 등굣길에 총격을 받았고, 신고를 받은 경찰이 현장에 출동했다.

이 청소년은 심각한 부상을 입어 결국 케임브리지에 있는 병원으로 공수됐다.

경찰은 오전 11시께 사건 현장에서 5 마일(약 8km) 떨어진 입스위치에서 용의자인 10대 청소년을 체포했다.

경찰은 살인미수 등의 혐의로 용의자를 심문하고 있다면서도 정확한 나이나 신분은 공개하지 않았다.

경찰은 일단 인근 학교나 지역사회에 추가적인 위협은 없는 것으로 보고 있다.

경찰 발표에 앞서 케스그레이브 고등학교는 11학년에 재학 중인 한 학생이 등굣길에 심각한 사건에 휘말렸다고 밝혔다.

학교 측은 "경찰로부터 우리 학교 학생이 포함된 심각한 사건이 있었다는 사실을 전달받았다"면서 "학교는 안전하며, 경찰과 계속해서 긴밀히 소통하면서 상황에 대처하고 있다"고 설명했다.
