서울 '소셜벤처허브' 기업들, 9개월만에 매출 27억원 달성

(서울=연합뉴스) 임미나 기자 = 서울시는 '소셜벤처허브'에 입주한 기업들이 9개월 만에 매출 47억원, 신규 채용 51명을 기록하는 성과를 냈다고 17일 밝혔다.

소셜벤처는 창의성과 기술을 바탕으로 돌봄, 일자리, 주거와 같은 사회문제를 해결하고 이를 통해 이윤을 얻는 기업을 말한다.

서울시는 이런 기업들을 지원하고자 지난해 10월 한국자산관리공사, 한국장학재단, 공공상생연대기금과 함께 역삼동 선릉역 인근 '나라키움 청년창업허브' 내 2개 층(3∼4층)에 '소셜벤처허브'를 조성했다.

이곳에 입주한 14개 기업의 지난 9개월간 매출액은 총 47억원이며, 입주기업 중 10곳이 총 51명을 신규로 채용한 것으로 집계됐다.

코로나19로 인한 경기침체와 고용 한파에도 불구하고 이들 기업이 높은 매출을 달성하고 신규 일자리를 만들어 내 소셜벤처의 성장 가능성을 입증했다고 시는 평가했다.

서울시는 코로나19 장기화로 인한 입주기업들의 어려움을 고려해 지난달부터 관리비를 50% 인하했다.

서성만 서울시 노동민생정책담당관은 "소셜벤처는 사회문제 해결과 수익, 일자리를 동시에 창출하는 혁신과 상생의 기업모델"이라며 "사회적 가치를 추구하는 더 많은 기업을 발굴·육성하고 청년 일자리 창출로 연계될 수 있도록 적극 지원하겠다"고 말했다.
