日 코로나19 신규 확진 하루 만에 다시 1천명대로(종합)

후생노동상, 긴급사태 재선포 가능성 언급

야당 대표 "무정부 상태…아베 총리 조기 퇴진해야"

(도쿄=연합뉴스) 박세진 특파원 = 일본에서 신종 코로나바이러스 감염증(코로나19) 신규 확진자 수가 하루 만에 다시 1천명대로 올라서는 등 폭발적인 증가 양상이 이어지고 있다.

NHK 집계에 따르면 4일 발표된 신규 확진자 수(오후 10시 기준)는 도쿄 309명, 오사카 193명을 포함해 총 1천235명이다.

일본의 하루 확진자 수는 지난달 29일 1천명 선을 돌파하며 5일 연속 1천명대를 유지한 뒤 전날 960명대로 떨어졌다가 이날 다시 1천명대가 됐다.

지금까지 누적 확진자 수는 4만2천163명, 사망자는 1천35명이다.

최근 신규 확진자가 급증하면서 일본 전체 의료체계의 부담이 커지고 있다.

후생노동성 자료에 따르면 지난달 29일 기준으로 입원한 확진자는 일본 전역에서 4천34명으로 같은 달 1일과 비교해 5배 이상으로 급증했다.

지역별로는 도쿄가 1천250명으로 4.2배 늘었고, 오사카는 534명으로 20.5배 폭증했다.

이 영향으로 확보해 놓은 코로나19 환자용 병상 사용 비율도 도쿄가 28.9%포인트 급등한 37.9%를 기록하는 등 병상 부족 현상이 조만간 현실화할 것으로 예상된다.

이와 관련, 가토 가쓰노부(加藤勝信) 후생노동상(장관)은 이날 기자회견에서 오키나와현 등 일부 광역지자체가 독자적으로 긴급사태를 선포한 것을 거론하면서 확진자 증가 속도가 급격하게 높아질 경우 다양한 지표를 종합적으로 판단해 중앙정부 차원의 긴급사태로 다시 대응할 가능성이 있다고 말했다.

그러나 아베 신조(安倍晋) 총리는 전날 집권 자민당과의 당정회의에서 확진자가 급증하고 있지만 사회경제 활동을 유지하면서 감염 억제 정책을 추진하겠다는 입장을 재확인했다.

제1야당인 입헌민주당의 에다노 유키오(枝野幸男) 대표는 아베 총리의 이런 미온적 대응을 "조령모개(朝令暮改)의 무정부 상태"라고 비판하고 조기 퇴진을 촉구했다.

아베 총리는 정상대로라면 임기가 내년 9월까지다.

에다노 대표는 4일 기자회견에서 "아베 총리의 리더십이 부족하다"면서 도도부현(都道府縣·광역자치단체) 경계를 넘어 감염이 확산하는데 여행을 장려하는 '고투(Go To) 캠페인' 사업을 밀어붙이는 등 코로나19 사태에 적절히 대응하지 못하고 있다고 지적했다.

그는 아베 총리가 위기 극복을 위해 진두지휘할 의사가 없다면 한시라도 빨리 물러나 다른 총리가 이끌도록 하는 것이 국가에 대한 책임이라고 주장했다.

한편 일본 정부의 코로나19 대책을 이끄는 니시무라 야스토시(西村康稔) 경제재생담당상은 이날 기자회견에서 내주 '오봉'(お盆) 명절 기간에 감염방지 대책의 철저한 이행을 전제로 정부가 일률적인 이동 자제를 요구하지는 않을 것이라고 밝혔다.

오봉은 한국의 추석 때처럼 귀성해 성묘하고 가족들이 함께 시간을 보내는 일본의 명절이다.

법정 공휴일은 아니지만 양력 8월 15일을 전후로 3일 정도 쉬고, 대부분 직장인이 이 기간에 맞춰 여름휴가를 떠나기 때문에 코로나19 확산의 매개가 될 수 있다는 지적이 나온다.
