(서울=연합뉴스) 김철선 기자 = 서울 용산구 전쟁기념관의 운영·관리를 담당하는 전쟁기념사업회 소속 경리직원이 9년간 공금 8억5천여만원을 횡령한 사실이 뒤늦게 드러났다.

23일 경찰과 미래통합당 강대식 의원실에 따르면 지난해 12월 사업회는 공금을 횡령한 전쟁기념사업회 서무경리 직원 A(38)씨를 파면 징계하고 업무상 횡령 혐의로 경찰에 고소했다.

사업회 내부 조사 결과 2008년 입사한 A씨는 전쟁기념관 뮤지엄웨딩홀 수납 업무를 하면서 2010년부터 2019년까지 예식비 계산서를 위조하거나 현금으로 받은 연회 비용을 빼돌리는 수법으로 총 560회에 걸쳐 8억5천여만원을 횡령한 것으로 드러났다.

A씨는 사업회 조사에서 횡령 혐의를 전부 인정한 것으로 전해졌다.

서울 용산경찰서는 A씨를 업무상 횡령 혐의로 기소 의견을 달아 올해 3월 불구속 송치했고 사건을 넘겨받은 서울서부지검은 A씨를 수사 중이다.
