(서울=연합뉴스) 홍유담 기자 = 건강한 먹거리에 대한 관심이 늘면서 신선함을 내세우는 '로컬 푸드' 수요가 늘고 있다.

30일 롯데마트에 따르면 올해 상반기 로컬 푸드 매출은 지난해 같은 기간 대비 559.6% 급증했다.

로컬 푸드는 생산한 지역에서 소비가 이뤄져 물리적 이동 거리를 최소화한 식품을 뜻한다.

롯데마트는 로컬 푸드 개념을 확대해 지난해 8월부터 '대한민국 산지뚝심'이라는 이름으로 우수 농·축·수산물 생산자 상품을 전국 매장에서 판매하고 있다.

경기 용인 농가의 쌈 채소는 '산지뚝심' 품질 인증을 받은 후인 올해 상반기 매출이 지난해 동기 대비 34% 늘었고, 충남 예산의 쪽파와 금산의 추부깻잎 매출도 각각 28%, 32% 증가했다.

롯데마트는 산지뚝심 상품 400여개를 판매하고 있으며, 이번 추석에는 30년 경력의 엮거리(생선을 반건조 후 두름으로 엮는 것) 명인들과 함께 생산한 '모싯잎 부세 굴비 세트'를 선보일 예정이다.

문영표 롯데마트 대표는 "오프라인 매장의 위기감이 도래하고 있지만 이러한 상황을 극복 할 수 있는 방법은 우수한 신선식품을 고객들에게 선보이는 것"이라며 "지역의 우수한 농·축·수산물을 지속해서 발굴해 경쟁력을 확보할 것"이라고 말했다.
