청주 상당경찰서는 폭행 혐의로 A(53)씨를 불구속 입건했다고 15일 밝혔다.

경찰에 따르면 A씨는 이날 오후 2시 15분께 상당구의 한 버스정류소에서 시내버스 기사 B(37)씨를 밀치는 등 폭행한 혐의를 받는다.

A씨는 경찰에서 "운전기사가 마스크를 끼지 않고는 버스에 탈 수 없다고 해서 화가 났다"고 진술했다.

경찰은 A씨 등을 상대로 사건 경위를 조사하고 있다.

청주시는 지난 5월 30일 시내버스 승객의 마스크 착용을 의무화하는 행정명령을 내렸다.

이를 어기고 버스에 탑승한 뒤 신종 코로나바이러스 감염증(코로나19)에 감염되면 최대 300만원의 과징금과 방역 비용을 물어야 한다.
