베트남·캄보디아·라오스 "85일 이상 지역감염 사례 없다"

캄보디아만 베트남 국경봉쇄 해제, 다른 국경은 '꽁꽁' 묶여

(하노이=연합뉴스) 민영규 특파원 = 세계적으로 신종 코로나바이러스 감염증(코로나19)이 재확산하는 가운데 동남아시아에서 국경을 맞대고 있는 베트남, 캄보디아, 라오스가 3개월가량 추가 감염 사례가 없다고 밝히고 있어 눈길을 끈다.

이들 3국에서는 코로나19 감염으로 인한 사망자가 단 한명도 나오지 않았다는 것이 공식 발표 내용이다.

그러나 이들 국가는 아직도 국경을 계속 봉쇄하면서 3국 간 인적교류는 이뤄지지 않는다.

11일 각국 보건부가 밝힌 자료에 따르면 베트남에서는 지난 4월 16일 이후 85일 연속 코로나19 지역사회 감염자가 발생하지 않았고, 확진자 가운데 사망자는 없다.

캄보디아에서는 지난 4월 12일 이후 89일 연속 지역사회 감염자가 없으며 사망자 '제로'(0)를 유지하고 있다.

라오스에서는 최근 89일 연속 신규 확진자가 아예 없었다. 특히 라오스 정부는 누적 확진자 19명이 모두 완치된 이후인 지난달 10일 코로나19 퇴치 성공을 공식 선언했다.

이런 가운데 캄보디아 정부는 지난달 19일 베트남과의 국경 봉쇄를 3개월 만에 풀었지만, 라오스 국경은 여전히 닫아 놓은 것으로 알려졌다.

또 입국하는 외국인은 최근 72시간 안에 받은 코로나19 음성 확인서와 캄보디아에 머무는 동안 5만달러(약 6천만원) 이상 치료비를 보장하는 보험 가입 증서를 제출하도록 한다.

14일간의 시설 또는 자가 격리를 거치도록 하는 등 코로나19가 확산하는 다른 나라와 같은 방역 조처를 하고 있다.

베트남은 캄보디아의 국경봉쇄 해제를 환영하면서도 상응하는 조치를 하지는 않았다. 베트남은 또 라오스에 대해서도 최근 일부 유학생의 예외 입국만 허용한 것으로 전해졌다.

라오스 정부는 최근 모든 국경 봉쇄를 유지한다는 방침을 밝혔다.

이는 코로나19 팬데믹(세계적 대유행) 상황에서 불가피한 조치라는 게 각국의 입장이다.

그러나 인접국의 발표를 100% 신뢰하지 못하기 때문이라는 분석도 있다.

지난 5월 베트남에서 확진 판정을 받은 코로나19 환자 두 명을 놓고 베트남 정부는 캄보디아에서 입국한 뒤 격리시설에 있다가 확진 판정을 받았다고 발표했다.

반면 캄보디아는 이들이 자국에서 건너가지 않았다면서 베트남에서 감염됐을 것이라는 입장을 밝혀 상당한 신경전을 벌였다.

라오스의 코로나19 검사 건수는 지난 7일 현재 1만8천건에 불과해 현실을 제대로 반영하지 못한다는 지적을 받았다.

이런 상황에서 응우옌 쑤언 푹 베트남 총리는 지난 5일 통룬 시술릿 라오스 총리를 이틀간의 일정으로 초청, 베트남 다낭에서 대면 총리 회담을 열어 눈길을 끌었다.

양국 총리는 이른 시간 안에 양국 간 항공기 운항을 재개하는 방안을 검토한다는 데 합의하기도 했다.
