(서울=연합뉴스) 박수윤 기자 = 북한 선전매체는 8일 신종 코로나바이러스 감염증(코로나19) 확산 속에서도 미국과 일본의 군사적 밀착이 더욱 강화되고 있다며 경계심을 드러냈다.

북한 대외선전매체 '메아리'는 이날 '더욱 위험해지는 미일동맹' 제목 기사에서 "온 세계가 신종 코로나바이러스 감염증(코로나19) 전파를 억제하기 위한 사업에 모든 역량을 총집중하고 있는 때에 유독 미국과 일본의 군사적 결탁이 어느 때보다 강화되고 있어 내외의 우려를 자아내고 있다"고 지적했다.

매체는 지난달 15일 남중국해에서 작전 중인 미국 항공모함 로널드 레이건호(CVN-76)가 일본 해상자위대의 무라사메급(6천200t급) 구축함 이카즈치함(DD-107)과 벌인 연합훈련 등 양국 간 일련의 군사활동 공조를 열거했다.

특히 마크 에스퍼 미국 국방부 장관과 고노 다로(河野太郞) 일본 방위상이 지난달 29일 미국령 괌에서 회담하며 북한의 대량살상무기와 미사일 등 안보 현안을 논의한 부분도 지적했다.

그러면서 "미일간의 잦은 군사적 모의와 결탁이 조선반도(한반도)와 지역의 평화와 안정을 위협하는 위험천만한 망동임은 두말할 필요가 없다"며 "아시아태평양 지역에 대한 지배를 실현하려는 미국과 아시아 재침 야망을 이뤄 보려는 일본 사이 공모 결탁의 산물"이라고 비난의 목소리를 높였다.

매체는 또 한국이 "미일상전의 침략적인 군사협력에 끼어들지 못해 안달복달"이라며 "사대 매국노", "쓸개 빠졌다" 등 험한 말을 동원해 남측을 비난했다.

이어 "불을 즐기는 자는 불에 타죽기 마련이듯 미국과 일본이 군사적 결탁에 광분하며 조선반도와 지역의 긴장을 고조시키는 것은 자멸의 함정을 파는 어리석은 짓으로 될 것"이라고 경고했다.
