유로존, 2분기 GDP 11.8% 감소…통계작성 25년만에 최대폭 하락

(브뤼셀=연합뉴스) 김정은 특파원 = 유럽연합(EU)에서 유로화를 사용하는 19개 회원국인 유로존의 2020년 2분기 국내총생산(GDP)이 전분기 대비 11.8% 감소한 것으로 추산됐다고 EU 통계기구인 유로스타트(Eurostat)가 8일(현지시간) 밝혔다.

EU 27개 회원국 전체의 GDP는 전분기 대비 11.4% 떨어진 것으로 추산됐다.

이는 유로스타트가 앞서 발표한 예비 추산치보다는 감소폭이 약간 줄어든 것이기는 하지만, 1995년 해당 통계 작성을 시작한 이래 가장 큰 폭의 감소다.

유로스타트는 지난 7월 말 올해 2분기 GDP(예비치)가 전분기 대비 유로존은 12.1%, EU 전체는 11.9% 감소한 것으로 추산한 바 있다.

국가별 올해 2분기의 전분기 대비 GDP 성장률은 스페인 -18.5%, 그리스 -14.0%, 포르투갈 -13.9%, 프랑스 -13.8%, 이탈리아 -12.8%, 독일 -9.7%, 스웨덴 -8.3%, 덴마크 -6.9%, 핀란드 -4.5% 등이었다.

유로스타트는 2분기는 대부분의 회원국에서 신종 코로나바이러스 감염증(코로나19) 확산을 막기 위한 봉쇄 조치가 있었던 시기라고 강조했다.

EU 회원국들은 지난 3월 봉쇄 조치를 폭넓게 도입했다가 이후 코로나19 확산이 둔화하자 5월께부터 단계적으로 봉쇄를 완화했다.

많은 전문가는 2022년까지는 경제가 코로나19 이전 수준에 이를 것이라고 예상하지 않는다고 AP 통신은 전했다.
