예멘 반군이 격추했다고 주장한 미국제 RQ-20 무인기

(테헤란=연합뉴스) 강훈상 특파원 = 예멘 반군 후티(자칭 안사룰라)가 운용하는 알마시라 방송은 미국 회사 에어로바이런먼트(AV)가 생산한 소형 정찰용 무인기(드론) 'RQ-20 퓨마'를 격추했다고 3일(현지시간) 보도했다.

예멘 반군은 북부 국경지대인 하자주 하라드 지역에서 2일 이를 격추했다면서 알마시라 방송을 통해 동영상을 공개했다.

이 동영상을 보면 드론의 외형은 심한 손상을 입지 않았으며 날개와 동체에 총알에 맞은 작은 구멍이 난 것으로 미뤄 대공포가 아닌 개인 화기로 맞췄을 가능성도 있다.

RQ-20 퓨마 기종 드론은 내장 배터리를 동력원으로 하며 손으로 날리는 방식이다.

길이 1.4m, 날개폭 2.8m로 크기가 작고 최고 속력은 시속 약 80㎞, 비행 고도는 150m다.

미군이나 사우디아라비아군은 알마시라 방송의 보도를 확인하지 않았다.

예멘 반군은 지난해 두차례 미군의 MQ-9 리퍼 드론을 대공 방어망으로 격추했다고 주장한 적 있다.
