일본 NHK, IT 활용 해수욕장 연 한국 사례 소개

일본 공영방송 NHK가 7일 저녁 해외 뉴스를 다루는 위성TV 채널 프로그램을 통해 신종 코로나바이러스 감염증(코로나19) 상황에서 정보기술(IT)을 활용해 해수욕장을 연 한국 사례를 소개했다.

NHK는 코로나19 여파로 아직 열지 못한 해수욕장 비율이 일본은 41%에 달하지만 한국은 8%에 불과할 정도로 두 나라 간에 격차가 크다면서 그 배경에는 IT를 앞세운 한국의 방역대책이 있다고 전했다.

NHK는 코로나19가 완전히 수습되지 않은 상황에서 한국에선 어떻게든지 사람들이 즐길 수 있도록 해수욕장을 열고자 했고, 그 과정에서 활용한 것이 스마트폰이라고 전했다.

그러면서 구체적인 사례로 스마트폰 앱으로 전국 주요 해수욕장 50곳의 혼잡도 정보를 공유해 분산을 유도하고, 해수욕장 상공에는 드론을 띄워 감염 예방 지침을 지키지 않는 사람들에게 30분 단위로 주의를 환기한다고 소개했다.

또 QR코드를 바탕으로 사전 등록된 해수욕장 이용자 중에서 감염자가 발생할 경우 추적이 가능한 점도 언급했다.

김태경 해양수산부 과장은 NHK와의 인터뷰에서 "우리도 (개장 문제를 놓고) 굉장히 고민을 많이 했다"면서 해수욕장의 안전한 운영을 위해 IT를 활용하게 된 동기를 설명했다.
