문대통령, 광화문집회 강행에 "국가방역에 도전, 용서못할 행위"(종합)

(서울=연합뉴스) 임형섭 기자 = 문재인 대통령은 16일 신종 코로나바이러스 감염증(코로나19) 집단감염이 재확산하는 상황에서 사랑제일교회 신도들이 전날 광화문 집회를 감행한 것을 두고 "국가방역시스템에 대한 명백한 도전이자, 국민의 생명을 위협하는 용서할 수 없는 행위"라고 강력히 비판했다.

문 대통령은 이날 페이스북에 올린 글에서 "대규모 집단감염원이 되는 일부 교회의 상황은 매우 우려스럽다"며 이같이 밝혔다.

문 대통령은 "방역 당국의 지속적인 협조 요청에도 방역수칙을 지키지 않고 무시하는 행태를 보이면서 확진자가 대량으로 발생했고, 집단감염 이후에도 검사와 역학조사 등 방역 협조를 거부하고 있어 방역 당국이 큰 애로를 호소하고 있다"고 지적했다.

이어 "게다가 격리 조치가 필요한 사람들 다수가 거리 집회에 참여해 전국에서 온 집회 참석자들에게 코로나가 전파됐을 수도 있는 상황"이라며 "코로나 확산을 막기 위해 온 국민이 오랫동안 애써온 상황에서 국민의 노력에 찬물을 끼얹는 대단히 비상식적 행태"라고 했다.

문 대통령은 특히 "정부는 강제수단을 동원해서라도 매우 단호하고 강력한 조치를 취해 나가지 않을 수 없다"며 "공공의 안녕과 질서를 훼손하는 불법행위를 엄단함으로써 국민의 안전을 최우선으로 지키고 법치를 확고히 세워나가는 정부의 사명을 다할 것"이라고 강조했다.

문 대통령은 최근의 코로나19 신규 확진자 확산세에 대해 "당분간 큰 규모의 신규 확진자 발생이 지속될 것으로 예상되는 매우 엄중한 상황"이라며 "신천지 이후 맞이한 우리 방역의 성패를 가늠하는 중대 고비"라고 말했다.

그러면서 "정부는 수도권 확산세를 효과적으로 차단하고 전국적 확산을 방지하기 위해 서울과 경기지역의 사회적 거리두기를 1단계에서 2단계로 격상했다"며 방역수칙을 준수할 것을 당부했다.

문 대통령은 "최장기간 장마와 유례없는 폭우로 큰 수해 피해까지 겪으며 어려움이 크신 상황에서 코로나 확산으로 또 다른 심려를 끼쳐 송구한 마음"이라며 "코로나를 극복할 힘은 오직 국민에게 있다. 성숙한 시민의식으로 코로나 저지에 힘을 모아 달라"고 거듭 강조했다.
