(서울=연합뉴스) 김예나 기자 = 식품의약품안전처는 최근 소비자의 관심을 끌고 있는 새싹보리 분말 제품을 국민청원 안전검사 대상으로 선정하고 제품을 수거해 검사한다고 3일 밝혔다.

국민청원 안전검사제는 생활 속 불안 요인을 사전에 차단하기 위해 국민으로부터 제품 수거·검사 청원을 받고, 다수가 추천한 청원에 대해서는 실제 검사를 시행해 결과를 공개하는 제도다.

검사 대상 제품은 국내에서 유통되고 있는 새싹보리 분말 제품 전체다.

식약처는 국내 제조업체 94곳에서 생산한 130개 제품을 직접 수거해 쇳가루와 같은 금속성 이물이 있는지, 대장균이 검출되는지 등을 검사할 계획이다.

식약처는 검사 진행 과정과 결과를 사회관계망서비스(SNS) 등으로 공개하고, 안전 기준에 적합하지 않은 제품에는 회수·폐기와 행정처분 등의 조처를 할 방침이다.

아울러 식약처는 새싹보리 분말을 포함해 분말, 환 형태 제품을 생산하는 국내 제조업체를 대상으로 쇳가루 제거 장치를 설치했는지 등을 점검하고 제품을 수거·검사할 계획이다.
