(베이징=연합뉴스) 심재훈 특파원 = 미국과 중국간 대립이 격해지는 가운데 왕이(王毅) 중국 외교 담당 국무위원 겸 외교부장이 미국을 겨냥해 남중국해가 국제 정치의 씨름판이 돼선 안 된다고 경고했다.

6일 중국 외교부에 따르면 왕이 국무위원은 전날 신화통신과 인터뷰에서 영유권 분쟁 지역인 남중국해에서 미국의 개입에 불만을 쏟아냈다.

왕 국무위원은 "남중국해는 역내 국가들의 공동 정원으로 국제 정치의 씨름판이 돼서는 안 된다"면서 "대화를 통해 분쟁을 해결하는 것이야말로 역내 국가들이 이익을 볼 수 있는 정확한 길"이라고 주장했다.

그는 "최근 미국이 남중국해에서 계속 문제를 일으키고 있다"면서 "이는 어느 편도 들지 않겠다는 약속을 어긴 것이고 남중국해에서 군사적인 존재를 과시하는 것"이라고 불편한 심기를 내비쳤다.

그는 미군이 올해 상반기에만 남중국해에서 2천여 차례 활동했다면서 "미국의 목적은 남중국해를 교란하고 역내 국가를 미국의 손에 묶어 놓으려는 것"이라고 지적했다.

왕이 국무위원은 "역내 국가들은 모두 경각심을 높여 힘들게 얻은 평화와 발전의 성과를 미국이 함부로 파괴하게 해서는 안 된다"면서 역내 국가들에 조속한 '남중국해 행동 준칙' 협상 재개를 제안했다.

아울러 왕 국무위원은 미국이 홍콩 국가보안법(홍콩보안법) 등을 이유로 중국과 홍콩을 압박하는 데도 반대하면서 "홍콩 문제에 간섭하는 행위는 일국양제(一國兩制·한 국가 두 체제)의 운영을 해치는 것으로 중화인들의 저항에 부딪힐 수밖에 없다"고 비난했다.
