'참고인소환 불응에 입건' 전직 정대협 직원 검찰 조사

(서울=연합뉴스) 김주환 기자 = 검찰의 참고인 소환 통보에 즉시 응하지 않았다가 피의자로 입건되자 검찰이 강압적 수단으로 출석을 요구한다며 반발한 한국정신대문제대책협의회(정대협) 전직 실무자가 최근 검찰에 출석해 조사를 받았다.

2일 법조계 등에 따르면 서울서부지검은 보조금 관리에 관한 법률 위반 혐의로 입건된 전직 정대협 직원 A씨를 지난달 28일 소환해 조사했다.

정대협은 정의기억연대(정의연)의 전신으로, 현재는 전쟁과여성인권박물관 운영 법인으로 존속하고 있다. 검찰은 A씨가 근무하던 2014년께 정대협이 받은 국고보조금 사용 내역과 관리 방식 등을 물어본 것으로 전해졌다.

서울서부지검은 A씨가 제주도에 거주하는 점을 고려해 수사관을 제주에 보내 제주지검에서 조사한 것으로 전해졌다.

앞서 A씨 측 변호인은 지난달 15일 검찰이 피의사실이나 죄명도 고지하지 않은 채 형사입건이라는 강압적 방법으로 출석을 강요한다며 서울서부지검 인권감독관실에 신고서를 제출했다.

신고 내용에 따르면 A씨는 서울서부지검으로부터 참고인 출석 통보를 받았으나 "6년 전 일했던 내용에 대해 기억이 나지 않고, 2015년 2월 퇴사했다. 지금은 제주도에 살아 출석하기 어렵다"며 출석을 거부했다. 이에 검찰은 A씨를 피의자로 입건하고 출석을 재차 요구했다.

이에 대해 검찰은 "출석조사 요구와 관련해 위법하거나 부당한 사항이 없었다"며 "증거관계 등을 고려해 적법 절차에 따라 대상자를 입건하고 재차 출석 요구 연락을 했다"는 입장을 밝혔다.

서울서부지검은 정의연·정대협의 회계 부정 의혹과 정의연 전직 이사장인 윤미향 더불어민주당 의원의 후원금 유용·안성 쉼터 조성과정 의혹을 수사하고 있다.

5월 14일 관련 고발 사건을 형사4부에 배당하고 수사에 착수한 지 두달이 넘었지만, 관련 의혹의 핵심 피고발인으로 꼽히는 윤 의원은 아직 소환조사를 받지 않은 상태다.

윤 의원과 관련한 핵심 의혹은 안성 쉼터 건물 매입 과정에 위법성이 있었는지, 법인이 아닌 개인 명의 계좌로 모금 활동을 하는 과정에서 모금액 일부를 사적으로 유용했는지 등이 꼽힌다.
