(서울=연합뉴스) 이효석 기자 = 카카오[035720]는 웹사이트 운영자가 자신의 웹사이트를 포털사이트 다음(Daum) 검색에 최적화하는 데 활용할 수 있는 '다음 웹마스터 도구 베타(Beta)' 서비스를 무료로 제공한다고 4일 밝혔다.

기업 또는 개인 홈페이지 관리자는 이 도구를 이용해 자신이 관리하는 웹사이트가 다음 검색 결과에 더 잘 노출되도록 만들 수 있다.

베타에서 제공하는 기능은 ▲ 검색 최적화 ▲ 정보 분석 ▲ 문서 분석 ▲ 수집 요청 등이다.

검색 최적화에서는 해당 사이트가 다음 검색 엔진에 얼마나 최적화돼있는지를 응답 값과 웹페이지 언어(HTML) 분석 등으로 살펴볼 수 있다.

정보 분석은 웹사이트의 다양한 통계 정보를 기간별 차트로 제공한다.

다음의 검색 크롤러(웹을 돌아다니며 정보를 수집하는 프로그램)가 수집한 정보, 검색엔진이 색인한 정보, 다음 웹 검색 결과에 해당 사이트 문서가 얼마나 노출됐고 클릭 됐는지 알 수 있는 검색 정보 등을 확인할 수 있다.

문서 분석에서는 웹 문서를 다음 검색에 적합한 구조로 개선할 수 있게 HTML 소스 코드 가이드를 제시한다. 수집 요청에서는 다음 검색 크롤러가 방문해 정보를 수집하기를 원하는 사이트의 URL을 직접 입력할 수도 있다.

카카오 관계자는 "카카오는 다음 검색 엔진 기술력을 활용해 검색 서비스를 향상하기 위해 노력하고 있다"며 "다음 웹마스터 도구 베타가 콘텐츠 공급자와 이용자 모두의 만족도를 높이기를 기대한다"고 말했다.
