재향군인회, 광복회장 '이승만 친일파 결탁' 기념사 규탄

(서울=연합뉴스) 최평천 기자 = 예비역 군인 단체인 대한민국재향군인회(향군)는 김원웅 광복회장이 광복절 경축사 기념사에서 '이승만 전 대통령이 친일파와 결탁했다'고 주장한데 대해 "역사를 왜곡하지 말아야 한다"고 규탄했다.

향군은 16일 성명을 내고 "항일 독립운동에 몸을 바치고 탁월한 반공주의자인 이승만 초대 대통령을 더이상 친일로 왜곡시키고 매도하지 말아야 한다"며 "광복회장은 이 전 대통령이 친일과 결탁했다는 근거를 반드시 밝혀야 한다"고 지적했다.

이어 "광복회장은 지나치게 편향된 역사관을 가졌다"며 "오늘의 대한민국이 있게 한 애국자에게 친일 프레임을 씌워 토착 왜구로 몰아 국론을 쪼개는 데 앞장서고 있다"고 비판했다.

향군은 "광복회는 창군 원로 몇 사람의 일본군 경력을 문제 삼아 '친일 세력이 국군의 뿌리'라고 왜곡한다"며 "창군 원로는 6·25전쟁에서 목숨 걸고 싸워 한반도 공산화를 막아낸 호국 영웅"이라고 덧붙였다.
