(서울=연합뉴스) 김준억 기자 = 문화체육관광부는 신종 코로나바이러스 감염증(코로나19) 확진자 급증으로 사회적 거리두기 단계가 격상됨에 따라 종교시설에 협조를 당부했다.

박양우 문체부 장관은 16일 서울 성동구 성락성결교회를 방문해 최근 교회 중심의 집단 감염과 관련한 정부의 우려를 전달하고 현장 대응 상황을 점검했다.

박 장관은 최근 교회의 집단감염이 소모임과 단체식사, 마스크 미착용 등 기본적인 방역수칙을 준수하지 않아 발생한 점을 설명하고 방역수칙 준수의 중요성을 강조했다.

또한, 코로나19 상황의 긴박함을 인식하고 온라인 예배 활성화와 각종 모임의 비대면 전환 등 교회가 자발적으로 방역 조치에 노력해달라고 요청했다.

박 장관은 "그간 교회가 정부의 방역지침에 적극적으로 협조해 왔음에도 일부 교회들로 인해 코로나19 확산의 중심이 되는 것이 매우 안타깝다"며 "통제가 어려운 지역 확산 위기를 막기 위해서는 교회가 온라인 예배를 활성화하고 대면 모임을 금지하는 등 정부의 방역지침을 철저히 지켜줘야 한다"고 당부했다.

한편, 서울시는 이날 긴급브리핑을 열고 사랑제일교회에서 발생한 집단감염으로 전국에서 193명의 확진자가 나왔다며 전광훈 목사 등 이 교회 관계자를 감염병예방법 위반 혐의로 고발한다고 발표했다.
