(서울=연합뉴스) 박경준 기자 = 정세균 국무총리는 2일 서울 서초구 한강홍수통제소를 방문해 집중호우에 따른 대응 태세를 직접 점검했다.

정 총리는 이 자리에서 조명래 환경부 장관과 김종석 기상청장으로부터 각각 전국 홍수 관리 상황과 향후 기상 전망을 보고받았다.

정 총리는 "모레까지 중부지방을 중심으로 매우 많은 비가 올 것으로 예상되므로 환경부와 한강홍수통제소는 강우량에 따라 댐과 보의 방류량을 탄력적으로 조정하는 등 선제적으로 대응해 달라"고 말했다.

또 "재난은 예방이 최선이므로 철저한 대비 태세로 인명·재산피해를 예방해 달라"며 "항구적인 대책 마련으로 동일한 재난이 발생하지 않게 하는 것이 중요하다"고 강조했다.

그러면서 현장 직원들에게 "계속된 비상 근무로 많이 힘들겠지만, 국민 생명과 재산을 지킨다는 사명감을 갖고 업무에 임해주기 바란다"고 당부했다.
