(서울=연합뉴스) 신재우 기자 = 개신교 최대 연합기관인 한국교회총연합(한교총)이 신종 코로나바이러스 감염증(코로나19) 확산 방지를 위해 온라인 예배 전환, 성가대 연습 자제에 나서는 등 정부 방역 조치에 긴밀히 협조하겠다고 밝혔다.

김태영 한교총 대표는 18일 충북 오송역 스마트워크센터에서 박능후 중앙재난안전대책본부 1차장, 정은경 중앙방역대책본부장과 만난 자리에서 이같이 협력 의사를 표명했다.

그는 "긴급하게 교회 대표자들을 소집했고, 수도권 교회들은 2주간 예배를 온라인으로 전환하기로 결의를 할 것 같다"면서 "성가대도 최대한 넓은 곳에서 아주 쉬운 곡으로 한번 연습하고 마스크를 끼라고 지침을 주는 등 협조할 것"이라고 말했다.

이에 박 1차장은 "코로나19 시대에는 방역을 생각하는 것이 올바른 종교활동, 이웃사랑이라고 생각한다"면서 "가능한 한 빨리 정상적인 종교활동이 가능하도록 당국에서 최선을 다하겠다"고 말했다.

정 본부장도 "그간 교회가 방역수칙을 강화하면서 노력해준 것에 감사하다"며 "코로나19에 걸리면 본인들의 건강도, 가족 건강도 문제가 되기 때문에 교회 안전을 위해 조금 더 적극적으로 협조해달라"고 부탁했다.

김 대표는 수도권 교회를 중심으로 코로나19 확진자가 속출하는 상황과 관련해 "전국이 수해로 고통을 당하고 있는데 수도권에서 교회발로 코로나19가 확산해서 국민께 부끄럽고 죄송하게 생각한다"고 밝혔다.

그는 "정통 교단 소속이 아닌 교회가 있어서 확진자 수백명이 나왔는데도 통제가 어려운 실정이지만, 교회라는 이름으로 활동하기에 저희가 변명의 여지가 없다"고 말했다.

그는 특히 집단감염이 발생한 서울 성북구 사랑제일교회에 대해 "전광훈 목사가 왜 저렇게 정치적인 일을 하는지 모르겠다. 교회가 몰상식한 집단으로 매도될 수 있는데, 제발 전 목사의 교회가 본연의 자세로 돌아오길 간절히 바란다"고 언급했다.
