(서울=연합뉴스) 현혜란 기자 = 도널드 트럼프 미국 대통령이 31일(현지시간) 미국에서 중국 소셜미디어 애플리케이션(앱) '틱톡' 사용을 이르면 8월 1일부터 금지하겠다고 밝혔다고 AP통신이 전했다.

트럼프 대통령은 이날 플로리다를 방문하고 돌아오는 전용기 에어포스원에서 "틱톡에 관한 한 우리는 미국에서 사용을 막을 것"이라며 비상경제권법이나 행정명령을 동원하겠다고 말했다.

미국 의회는 중국 기업들이 중국 공산당과 연계돼 있을 것으로 의심하고 사용하면 개인정보나 기밀이 유출될 수 있다는 우려를 제기해왔다.

틱톡에 대한 트럼프 대통령은 이번 조치는 신종 코로나바이러스 감염증(코로나19) 책임론, 중국의 홍콩국가보안법 시행, 남중국해 영유권 논란, 중국의 산업통상관행, 영사관 폐쇄 등을 두고 미중갈등이 고조된 상황에 나왔다.
