(선양=연합뉴스) 차병섭 특파원 = 남중국해와 대만해협을 둘러싸고 미중간 긴장이 고조되는 가운데, 중국이 최근 '항공모함 킬러'로 불리는 둥펑(東風·DF)-26 중거리 대함 탄도미사일을 시험 발사한 것으로 전해졌다.

7일 관영매체 글로벌타임스에 따르면 최근 중국 로켓군 소속 모 미사일 여단은 지역을 이동해가며 적에 대항하는 훈련을 했다.

관련 영상을 보면 중국군은 산간지역에서 화학공격을 받은 상황을 가정해 보호장구를 착용한 뒤 오염지역을 지났고, 위성 탐지를 피하기 위해 발사 차량을 위장하기도 했다.

또 발사 예정 장소인 사막에 도착한 뒤, 상황 변화에 맞춰 발사 방향을 조정하는 등 신속 대응 훈련을 진행했다.

이번 훈련은 향후 1~2개월간 이어질 예정인 것으로 알려졌다.

사거리 4천500km 정도로 추정되는 DF-26은 괌 미군기지를 비롯해 서태평양과 인도양 다수 지역에 도달할 수 있다는 게 글로벌타임스 설명이다. 핵탄두를 장착하고 해상에서 움직이는 목표물을 타격할 수도 있다.

중국은 2018년 DF-26 실전 배치에 대해 인정했고, 지난해 1월 중국중앙(CC)TV를 통해 DF-26 발사 장면을 처음 공개한 바 있다.

이번 미사일 발사는 특히 미국이 지난달 두차례나 항공모함 2척을 동시에 남중국해에 보내 훈련한 가운데 이뤄졌다. 미국은 인도와 인도양에서, 일본·호주와 필리핀해에서 중국 봉쇄를 염두에 둔 합동훈련을 하기도 했다.

중국 군사전문가 쑹중핑(宋忠平)은 "이번 훈련은 DF-26이 실전 상황에서 더 강력한 능력을 얻었으며, 미리 설치된 발사대에 의존하는 것도 아님을 보여줬다"고 평가했다.

그는 "이번 발사는 미국이 더는 항모로 중국 내정에 개입하고 중국의 국가안보를 위협할 수 없음을 보여줬다"면서 "미국 항모를 공격할 능력이 있다는 것은 중국이 보여줘야 할 핵심 억지력"이라고 밝혔다.

한편 중국 해사국은 11~13일과 16~17일 저장성 저우산(舟山) 근해에서 중국군이 실탄 사격훈련을 할 예정이라고 밝히기도 했다.
