(런던=연합뉴스) 박대한 특파원 = 프랑스의 신종 코로나바이러스 감염증(코로나19) 일일 신규 확진자가 3천명을 넘어섰다.

프랑스 정부는 코로나19 재확산을 막기 위해 직장 내 마스크 착용 의무화를 추진할 방침이다.

16일(현지시간) AP, 로이터 통신에 따르면 프랑스 보건부는 전날 코로나19 일일 신규 확진자가 3천310명으로 집계됐다고 밝혔다.

프랑스의 코로나19 일일 신규 확진자는 수백명까지 줄었다가 봉쇄조치 완화, 여름 휴가철 등과 맞물려 7월 이후 다시 증가세를 나타내고 있다.

특히 봉쇄조치 완화 이후 기준으로 전날까지 4일 연속 최대치를 경신했다.

신규 확진자가 늘어나면서 7일간 일평균 확진자 역시 4월 이후 처음으로 2천명을 넘어섰다.

코로나19가 재확산하면서 이웃 나라인 영국은 이번 주말부터 프랑스발 입국자에 대해 14일 자가 격리 의무화 조치를 적용하기로 했다.

프랑스 정부 역시 바이러스 감염을 막기 위한 추가 조치를 고심하고 있다.

엘리자베스 본 프랑스 노동장관은 이날 주간지 '르 주르날 뒤 디망쉬'와 인터뷰에서 추가 봉쇄조치를 피하기 위해 마스크 의무화 확대를 추진하겠다고 밝혔다.

구체적으로 오는 18일 고용주 및 노동조합 대표들과 만나 직장 내 마스크 착용 의무화에 관해 얘기를 나눌 것이라고 전했다.

본 장관은 "우리는 어떤 일이 있더라도 새로운 봉쇄조치를 피해야 한다"고 강조했다.
