폭발참사 레바논서 코로나19 급증…보건장관 "2주 봉쇄 필요"

하루 신규 확진자 439명으로 최다

(카이로=연합뉴스) 노재현 특파원 = 폭발 참사가 발생한 레바논에서 신종 코로나바이러스 감염증(코로나19) 환자가 급증하면서 봉쇄 조처가 다시 시행될 전망이다.

하마드 하산 레바논 임시 보건부 장관은 17일(현지시간) '레바논의 소리' 라디오방송에서 코로나19에 관한 국가경보를 선언하고 "우리는 2주 동안 (나라를) 봉쇄하는 현명한 결정이 필요하다"고 말했다고 현지 매체 데일리스타가 전했다.

그는 "봉쇄 조처는 공항, 수도 베이루트, 다른 지역 등 3개 지역으로 나눠 실시될 것"이라고 설명했다.

또 하산 장관은 레바논에서 올해 7월 초 봉쇄 조처를 풀면서 코로나19가 늘었다며 최근 폭발 참사도 코로나19 확진자 증가에 큰 영향을 줬다고 말했다.

레바논 보건부는 16일 전국에서 코로나19 누적 확진자가 8천881명으로 하루 사이 439명 늘었다고 밝혔다.

일일 신규 확진자 수는 레바논에서 2월 21일 첫 감염자가 보고된 후 가장 많다. 최근 일일 신규 확진자 수는 폭발 참사 다음 날인 5일 146명에서 6일 255명으로 급증했고 13일 298명, 14일 334명, 15일 397명 등으로 늘었다.

16일까지 레바논에서 코로나19로 인한 총 사망자는 103명으로 하루에 6명이 추가됐다.

지난 4일 베이루트 항구에서 발생한 대폭발로 인명 및 재산 피해가 큰 상황에서 코로나19 확산으로 레바논 정부의 위기감이 커졌다.

폭발 참사 이후 대규모 반정부 시위, 희생자 장례식, 피해지역에서 간호 및 자원봉사 활동 등이 코로나19 확산 위험을 높였다고 데일리스타는 분석했다.

베이루트 항구 폭발로 최소 178명이 숨지고 약 7천명이 다쳤다.

하산 디아브 총리가 이끌어온 레바논 내각은 이달 10일 폭발 참사에 대한 책임으로 총사퇴를 발표했다.

지중해 연안에 위치한 레바논은 인구가 약 680만명이고 이슬람 수니파 및 시아파, 기독교 등 종교가 다양하다.
