(서울=연합뉴스) 임수정 기자 = 환매가 중단된 라임자산운용 펀드 170여개를 이관해올 가교 운용사가 대표 선임 등 절차를 마치고 출범을 앞두고 있다.

2일 금융당국과 금융투자업계에 따르면 라임 펀드 이관·관리를 맡을 가교운용사 '레인보우자산운용'의 초대 대표로 강민호(54) 전 한화투자증권 위험관리책임자(CR0)가 선임됐다. 임기는 2년이다.

강 신임대표는 국민연금 기금운용본부, 삼성생명, 삼성카드 등에서 리스크 관리 업무를 주로 맡아왔다. 한화생명에서 투자전략팀장을 지내기도 했다.

레인보우자산운용 대표 모집에 총 8명이 지원한 가운데 강 전 대표가 리스크 관리 업무 및 자산운용 업무에 대한 전문성을 높게 평가받은 것으로 알려졌다.

라임 펀드 판매사 20곳으로 구성된 가교 운용사 공동 설립추진단은 강 대표 선임과 함께 출자금 납입(총 자본금 50억원)도 완료해 법인 설립을 마쳤다.

대표 선임과 법인 설립을 마친 레인보우자산운용은 이르면 이번 주 금융감독원에 전문사모운용사로의 등록 신청을 낼 계획이다.

금감원은 통상 한달가량 걸리는 등록 절차를 최대한 신속하게 완료한다는 방침이라 이르면 이달 말부터 가교 운용사로서 공식 업무를 시작할 수 있을 것으로 예상된다.

환매가 중단된 라임자산운용 펀드는 4개 모펀드 및 173개 자펀드로, 그 규모가 1조6천679억원에 달한다.

레인보우자산운용은 환매가 중단된 펀드는 물론 라임자산운용이 보유한 정상 펀드 대부분까지 넘겨받아 투자금 회수 극대화에 주력하게 된다.

금융투자업계는 펀드에 비시장성 자산 등이 포함된 점 등을 고려할 때 2025년까지 보유자산 현금화 및 보상을 마칠 수 있을 것으로 예상한다.

금감원은 레인보우자산운용으로 펀드 이관 작업이 가능한 시점에 맞춰 라임자산운용에 대한 제재심도 열 계획이다.

라임자산운용에서 다수의 불법적 운용행태가 드러난 만큼 등록 취소가 불가피하다는 관측이 우세하다.

라임자산운용의 등록을 취소할 경우 투자자 보호를 위해 펀드 이관이 병행돼야 하기 때문에 금감원은 가교 운용사 설립 및 출범 시점을 살펴 가며 제재심을 준비해왔다.

금감원 관계자는 "등록 취소를 할 경우 펀드 이관 명령을 함께 내리게 되는 구조"라고 설명했다.
