KB증권, '투자 사기' 호주 부동산 펀드 운용사에 구상금 청구 (CG)

(서울=연합뉴스) 곽민서 기자 = 현지 대출 차주의 계약 위반이 확인돼 '투자 사기' 논란을 일으킨 호주 부동산 펀드와 관련해 판매사인 KB증권이 운용사를 상대로 구상금 청구 소송을 제기했다.

20일 금융투자업계에 따르면 KB증권은 지난달 25일 서울남부지방법원에 JB자산운용을 상대로 구상금 청구 소송을 제기한 것으로 알려졌다. 청구 금액은 알려지지 않았다.

이와 관련해 JB자산운용 측은 "소송대리인을 선임해 법적 대응 할 예정"이라고 밝혔다.

앞서 KB증권은 지난해 3∼6월 JB자산운용이 운용하는 'JB 호주NDIS펀드'를 기관투자가에게 2천360억원, 법인과 개인에게 904억원씩 총 3천264억원어치 판매했다.

이 펀드는 호주 현지 사업자가 호주 정부의 장애인 주택 임대 관련 사업에 투자하는 전문투자형 사모투자신탁 펀드인데, 대출 차주인 LBA 캐피털이 대출 계약서를 위반하고 당초 약정 내용과 다르게 사업을 운영해온 점이 지난해 드러났다.

이에 따라 KB증권과 JB자산운용은 긴급 자산 회수 절차를 밟았고, 투자금의 87%가량을 우선 회수했다.

이후 KB증권은 일단 개인 투자자를 대상으로 투자 원금 전액을 반환한 상태다.

이번 구상금 청구 소송은 이에 따른 손실 보전을 위한 것으로 알려졌다.

업계에서는 최근 잇따라 발생하고 있는 부실 사모펀드와 관련해 이와 같은 금융회사 간 책임 공방이 속출할 것이라는 우려도 나온다.
