독일 자동차잡지 "현대차 넥쏘 매우 우수한 차"

(서울=연합뉴스) 권희원 기자 = 현대자동차[005380]는 수소전기차 '넥쏘(NEXO)'가 독일의 유명 자동차 잡지 아우토 모토 운트 슈포트가 실시한 주행 평가에서 매우 뛰어난 차로 평가받았다고 10일 밝혔다.

아우토 모토 운트 슈포트 최근 호에 실린 이번 평가는 수소차 운행이 처음인 직원이 1주일간 넥쏘를 타고 일반도로와 고속도로 등 총 1천500㎞를 주행하며 성능을 평가하는 방식으로 진행됐다.

아우토 모토 운트 슈포트는 넥쏘가 "한마디로 '매우 우수한 차' 그 자체"라며 "다른 전기차보다 항속거리가 길고 충전시간이 짧아 장거리는 물론 일상생활에서 가족용 차로 부족함이 없었다"고 평가했다.

넥쏘의 가장 큰 장점으로는 실용적인 항속거리가 꼽혔다.

잡지는 "평가를 하는 동안 고속, 급가속, 급제동 등 차량을 거칠게 다뤘는데도 충전 한 번으로 600㎞가 넘는 거리를 주행할 수 있었다"고 말했다. 시중에 출시된 대부분의 전기차보다 긴 셈이다.

이어 "만약 연비 주행을 한다면 유럽 NEDC(New European Driving Cycle)의 주행가능거리 산정 기준으로 750㎞ 이상도 가능할 것"이라고 덧붙였다.

전기차의 주행가능거리 산정 기준은 측정기관에 따라 다른데, 국내 환경부 기준으로는 609㎞다.

충전이 쉽고 신속하다는 점도 좋은 평가를 받았다.

수소 연료 게이지를 꽉 채우는 데 5분 정도밖에 걸리지 않아 가솔린이나 디젤 연료 충전 시간과 크게 차이가 나지 않았다는 평가다.

아우토 모토 운트 슈포트는 "넥쏘는 장거리 주행에 완벽한 차였고 주행 성능도 안전하고 신뢰감이 느껴졌다"고 강조했다.

또 "수소차 안전에 대한 오해, 비싼 수소 생산 가격 등으로 수소차에 대한 접근성이 낮은 편이지만 수소차 인프라와 관련 기술이 개선되면 넥쏘는 빠르게 보급될 것"이라고 평가했다.

아우토 모토 운트 슈포트는 아우토 빌트, 아우토 자이퉁과 함께 독일의 3대 자동차 잡지로 꼽힌다.

아우토 모토 운트 슈포트는 이전에도 메르세데스-벤츠의 수소전기차 GLC F셀과 넥쏘를 비교하며 "현대차의 수소차 경쟁력이 독일보다 뛰어나다"고 평가하기도 했다.

넥쏘는 지난해 4천987대가 판매되며 전세계 수소전기차 판매시장에서 1위를 기록했다.

유럽의 신차 안전성 평가 프로그램인 유로앤캡(Euro NCAP)에서 수소전기차로는 세계 최초로 최고 등급인 '5스타'를 받기도 했다.
