(울산=연합뉴스) 김근주 기자 = 울산열린시민대학이 울산이노베이션스쿨(UIS)로 이름을 바꿔 새 출발 한다.

울산시는 4차 산업혁명 시대를 이끌어갈 인재 양성이라는 목표에 걸맞게 명칭을 바꿨다고 17일 밝혔다.

시는 UIS 세부 목표로 ▲ 데이터 과학과 신성장 산업 분야 교과 확대 ▲ 기업과 연계한 과제 수행을 통한 현장 맞춤형 교육 체계화 ▲ 현재 20개인 협력 기관을 내년까지 50개 이상으로 확대 등을 설정했다.

시는 18일 울산정보산업진흥원 대강당에서 송철호 울산시장과 박병석 시의장 등이 참석한 가운데 UIS 비전 선포식을 연다.

이날 행사는 울산열린시민대학 경과 발표, 2020년 1기 수료식, 동아리 프로젝트 수행 결과 발표, UIS 비전 선포와 슬로건 발표순으로 진행된다.

울산열린시민대학 2020년 1기는 전문가 자문을 거쳐 자체 제작한 데이터 과학 커리큘럼 6개 강좌를 5월 4일부터 7월 4일까지 9주간 운영했다.

수강 신청자 1천276명이 가운데 63명이 온·오프라인 강의를 모두 수강해 공식 이수증을 받는다.

온라인 과정만 수강한 150명은 온라인 이수증을 받는다.

행사에선 울산열린시민대학 프로젝트팀이 수행한 '울산 코로나19 확산과 미세먼지 상관관계 비교분석', '비전 AI를 이용하는 마스크 착용 여부 검출 판단', '울산 기상과 오염물질 관계 분석' 등 수행 결과도 발표한다.

송철호 시장은 "지역 특화형 실무 인재를 양성해 미래산업을 선도하는 혁신적인 도시로 도약해 나갈 계획이다"고 말했다.

UIS는 온라인 강의로 언제, 어디서나 개념·이론을 학습하고, 오프라인 심화학습으로 수강생 상호 협업과 문제해결 능력을 배양하는 방식으로 운영되는 울산형 혁신 교육 플랫폼이다.

2기는 8개 강좌가 8월 3일부터 9월 26일까지 운영된다.

모집 기간은 이달 20∼31일이며, 울산이노베이션스쿨 누리집(ulsanis.kr)에서 신청하면 된다.
