러시아 "모스크바 테러 기획하던 국제테러조직 구성원 제거"

(모스크바=연합뉴스) 유철종 특파원 = 러시아 보안당국이 수도 모스크바에서 테러를 기획하던 국제테러조직 구성원을 제거했다고 연방보안국(FSB)이 27일(현지시간) 밝혔다.

타스 통신에 따르면 FSB 공보실은 이날 "우리 기관이 전날 경찰 등 수사당국과 함께 모스크바의 다중 밀집 지역에서 테러를 자행하려고 계획하던 테러 조직 구성원의 활동을 사전 차단했다"고 말했다.

공보실은 용의자가 모스크바 북쪽 힘키 지역의 버려진 차고에서 발견됐다면서, 체포 과정에서 용의자가 자동소총을 쏘며 저항했고 이에 보안요원들이 대응 사격을 가해 그를 제거했다고 설명했다.

공보실은 중앙아시아 국가 출신의 용의자가 모스크바에서 아파트를 임대해 생활해 왔다면서, 그는 범행 후 시리아로 가 국제테러조직에 가담하려 했다고 모스크바 인근 지역에서 체포된 용의자의 동생이 밝혔다고 전했다.

모스크바의 용의자 아파트에선 그가 시리아의 국제테러조직과 연계돼 있으며, 모스크바에서 주민들을 무차별 사살하려 했음을 보여주는 증거물들이 나왔다고 공보실은 덧붙였다.

체포 현장에선 탄창이 장착된 칼라시니코프 자동소총과 3발의 수류탄 등이 발견된 것으로 알려졌다.
