(서울=연합뉴스) 홍지인 이효석 기자 = 네이버가 14일 자사가 보유한 데이터를 활용해 정부가 추진하는 '디지털 뉴딜'을 뒷받침하겠다는 구상을 밝혔다.

네이버 한성숙 대표는 이날 청와대에서 열린 '한국판 뉴딜' 보고대회에서 "데이터의 가능성과 소중함을 누구보다 잘 알고 있는 네이버이기에 데이터를 통해 사회발전에 기여하겠다"고 말했다.

춘천 데이터센터 '각(閣)'에서 화상으로 연결한 한 대표는 "우선 네이버가 인공지능(AI) 기술로 분석·가공한 다양한 데이터를 클라우드를 통해 공개하려 한다"며 "이 데이터가 AI 연구와 여러 산업에 자유롭게 활용돼 4차 산업혁명의 마중물이 됐으면 좋겠다"고 말했다.

네이버는 춘천에 이어 세종시에 두 번째 데이터센터를 짓고 있다. AI·빅데이터·자율주행·5세대(5G) 이동통신 등 첨단 산업의 인프라로 활용할 예정인 새 데이터센터는 총 6천500억원을 들여 '하이퍼 스케일'(10만대 이상의 서버를 운영할 수 있는 초대형 데이터센터) 규모로 건설된다.

한 대표는 "소상공인과 창작자를 위해 더 쉽고 편리한 플랫폼을 만들고 스타트업 투자·온라인 창업·AI 인재 양성 교육 지원도 노력 아끼지 않겠다"며 "네이버 데이터를 기반으로 소상공인과 사회초년생을 위한 혁신적인 금융서비스도 잘 만들어가겠다"고 설명했다.

한 대표는 "글로벌 경쟁에서 앞서나갈 수 있도록 정부에서도 새로운 정책과 제도를 만들어주시리라 기대한다"며 "국민과 정부, 기업이 한마음으로 힘을 모은다면 디지털 강국은 꿈이 아니라 우리 현실이 되리라 확신한다"고 덧붙였다.

이날 홍남기 부총리 겸 기획재정부 장관이 보고한 '한국판 뉴딜'의 3개 축 중 하나인 '디지털 뉴딜'은 58조2천억원을 투자해 일자리 90만3천개를 만든다는 구상이다.

'데이터·네트워크·인공지능(D.N.A)' 생태계 강화 차원에서 공공데이터 14만개를 공개해 '데이터 댐'을 구축하고, 8천400여개 기업 데이터의 바우처를 제공하는 등 내용이 담겨있다.
