와인수입 매년 증가…프랑스·칠레산 와인이 인기 최고

(서울=연합뉴스) 이한승 기자 = 와인 수입이 매년 증가하고 있는 것으로 조사됐다.

특히 지난해 우리나라의 와인 1위 수입국은 중량 기준으로 칠레인 것으로 집계됐다.

26일 관세청의 수출입 무역통계에 따르면 와인 수입 중량은 지난 2011년 2만6천4t에서 지난해 4만3천495t으로 8년 만에 1.7배 증가했다.

최근 3년 동안 와인 수입 중량을 보면 2017년 3만6천144t, 2018년 4만291t, 2019년 4만3천495t으로 매년 8∼11.5%의 성장률을 보였다.

또 올해 상반기에는 지난해 한 해 수입량의 53.0% 수준인 2만3천62t의 와인이 수입됐다.

2017년부터 지난 6월까지 최근 4년 동안 총 와인 수입금액을 보면 84만8천95달러를 기록했지만, 수출금액은 1천102달러에 불과해 수출입 사이에 불균형이 심했다.

시음 기다리는 다양한 와인들

이와 함께 지난해 국가별 와인 수입 현황을 보면 2ℓ 이하의 용기에 넣은 와인 기준으로 칠레산이 1만1천272t 수입돼 1위를 차지했다.

이어 ▲ 스페인 5천406t ▲ 프랑스 5천13t ▲ 이탈리아 4천534t ▲ 미국 2천956t ▲ 호주 2천102t 등이 그 뒤를 이었다.

그러나 중량이 아닌 수입금액을 기준으로 보면 국가별 순위가 바뀌었다.

1위는 프랑스로 4만9천855달러의 와인이 수입됐고, 2위는 칠레 와인(4만7천945달러), 3위 미국(3만2천743달러), 4위 이탈리아(2만9천996달러), 5위 스페인(1만5천987달러), 6위 호주(1만1천297달러) 등의 순이었다.

주류업계는 프랑스 와인의 경우 고가의 제품이 많기 때문에 수입금액이 큰 것으로 분석했다.

이와 관련해 주류업계 관계자는 "대형마트나 편의점에서 와인 관련 다양한 프로모션을 하고, 와인을 즐기는 소비자가 늘어나면서 매년 와인 수입이 증가하고 있다"며 "특히 프랑스 와인과 칠레 와인의 인기가 지속되고 있다"고 밝혔다.
