(서울=연합뉴스) 강민경 기자 = 정세균 국무총리는 22일 "종전선언과 (북한) 비핵화는 조금 다른 사안"이라고 말했다.

정 총리는 이날 국회 대정부질문에서 종전선언이 비핵화를 견인할 수 있느냐는 미래통합당 태영호 의원의 질의에 "결국은 비핵화라는 목표를 달성해야 한다"며 이같이 주장했다.

정 총리는 "그 길로 나가는 데 있어 출발점이 필요하다"며 "종전 선언이 그런 차원에서 이루어진다면 도움이 될 수 있다고 판단한다"고 설명했다.

그러면서 "종전선언 논의는 북한 당국이나 김정은 위원장을 위해서가 아니라, 대한민국과 한민족을 위한 것"이라고 강조했다.

한편 정 총리는 6.25 전쟁영웅 147명의 유해봉환 행사 당시 유해를 하루 동안 비행기에 방치했다는 비판과 관련, "조금 더 세심한 주의를 해서 이런 지적을 받지 않도록 해야 했던 안타까움이 있다"고 말했다.

다만 "정부 당국자와 문재인 대통령이 유해를 쉽게 생각하거나 예우를 제대로 하지 않을 생각으로 그런 것은 아니었다"고 부연했다.

서울시가 백선엽 장군의 분향소에 변상금을 물린다는 보도에 대해서는 "모든 행정절차는 법과 제도에 의해 이루어진다"며 "이 대처가 온당한지, 서울시가 다른 재량권을 가지고 있는지를 종합적으로 판단해야 한다"고 밝혔다.
