이준기 "퍼즐 같은 '악의 꽃', 자기복제 두려움 잊고 몰입"

tvN은 오는 29일 새로운 수목극 '악의 꽃'을 선보인다고 22일 밝혔다.

이 드라마는 14년간 사랑해 온 남편 희성(이준기 분)이 피도 눈물도 없는 연쇄살인마로 의심되기 시작한 여자 지원(문채원)의 이야기를 그린다. 외면하고 싶은 진실 앞에 마주 선 두 사람의 심리 게임이 관전 포인트다.

이준기는 이날 열린 온라인 제작발표회에서 "처음 대본을 받고 어렵다고 생각했다"며 "한 가장으로서의 모습도, 부부로서의 멜로도 보여줘야 한다. 잔혹한 과거를 지나 진실을 감추려는 집요하고 고통스러운 시간을 제대로 담을 수 있을까 고민했다"고 말했다.

그는 "충분히 새로운 시도의 작품이 될 것이라는 확신이 들었다"며 "지금은 퍼즐과도 같은 이야기를 즐기고 있다. 배우로서 한 번쯤은 도전해볼 가치 있는 작품이며, 시청자들께서도 즐겨주셨으면 좋겠다"고 밝혔다.

그러면서 "자기 복제에 대한 두려움을 잊고 새로운 캐릭터에 몰입하기 위해 노력하고 있다"고 강조했다.

문채원 역시 "몇 년 만에 하고 싶고, 마음에 드는 작품을 만났다. 애정이 많이 들어가 있는 작품"이라고 말했다.

그는 "요즘은 하나의 장르만 내세우는 드라마보다는 여러 장르가 혼합된 작품이 많더라"며 "'악의 꽃'은 장르극과 멜로가 자연스럽게 조화를 이뤄 선택했다"고 설명했다.

문채원은 또 "부부 연기는 처음인데 과거 작품을 함께해 본 이준기 씨와 함께해 기쁘다"고 파트너와의 호흡을 자랑하기도 했다.

'악의 꽃' 연출은 '자백', '마더', '공항 가는 길'의 김철규 PD가 맡았으며 대본은 유정희 작가가 집필했다.

김 PD는 "이준기, 문채원, 장희진, 서현우 네 배우마다 개성이 뚜렷해 언뜻 보기에는 조합이 어려워 보이지만 실제로는 균형이 잘 맞는다. 다양하면서도 서로를 해치지 않는다. 최적의 캐스팅"이라고 자신했다.

'악의 꽃'은 나나-박성훈 주연의 KBS 2TV '출사표', 송지효-손호준의 JTBC '우리, 사랑했을까', 김혜준-오나라의 MBC TV '십시일반'과 겨루게 된다.

도드라지는 선두가 없는 상황에서 이준기-문채원이 초반 승기를 잡아 최근 침체한 tvN의 분위기를 되살릴 수 있을지 주목된다.
