(서울=연합뉴스) 설승은 기자 = 정세균 국무총리는 19일 당정이 검토 중인 개발제한구역(그린벨트) 해제 방안에 대해 "매우 신중하게 접근하는 게 옳다. 그린벨트는 한번 훼손하면 복원이 안되기 때문"이라고 밝혔다.

정 총리는 이날 KBS 1TV '일요진단 라이브'에 출연해 이같이 말한 데 이어 '서울시의 반대에도 국토교통부 장관 직권으로 그린벨트를 해제할 수 있느냐'는 질문에 "법적으로 가능할지는 모르지만, 그렇게 정책을 하는 것은 바람직하지 않다고 본다"고 답했다.

정 총리는 김상조 청와대 정책실장이 최근 당정 간 그린벨트 해제 검토 입장을 재확인한 것을 놓고 '해제 쪽으로 결론이 난 것 아니냐'는 해석이 나온 데 대해 "아직 정리되지 않았다"고 했다.

그는 부동산 공급 확대 방안에 대해 "모든 가능성을 검토하는 단계"라며 "가능한 한 빠른 시간 안에 졸속에 그치지 않으면서도 정제된 대책을 만들어 발표하겠다"고 말했다.

그러면서 "아직 (대책이) 확정되지 않은 상태인데 책임 있는 당국자들이 이런저런 이야기를 하는 것은 국민을 혼란하게 하고 시장에 잘못된 신호를 보낼 수 있어 적절치 않다"고 강조했다.

정 총리는 부동산 민심이 악화하고 있는데 대해선 "부동산 문제로 행복한 국민이 없을 정도로 심각하다"며 "특단의 대책이 필요하다는 인식을 정부가 하고 있다"고 밝혔다.

다만 김현미 국토교통부 장관 경질론에 대해선 "전쟁 중 장수를 바꾸지 않는다는 말이 있다"며 "사태 수습 후에나 논의할 수 있는 문제지 지금은 적절한 타이밍이 아니다"라고 선을 그었다.

정 총리는 고(故) 박원순 전 서울시장의 성추행 의혹 등과 관련해 "국민께 참 송구하다"며 "다시는 이런 일이 일어나지 않도록, 국민들이 유사 사례를 걱정하지 않도록 전화위복의 계기로 삼고 미래 지향적으로 대비하고 판단해야 한다"고 강조했다.

그러면서 "피해자에게도 심심한 위로의 말씀을 드리며, 유감의 뜻을 표하고 싶다"고 밝혔다.

정 총리는 대통령 국정 지지도 및 여당 지지율 하락과 관련, "매우 아프게 생각한다"고 말했다.

나아가 '문재인 대통령도 지지율 하락세를 무겁게 받아들이느냐'는 질문에 "직접 내색하지는 않지만 그러실 것"이라며 "이심전심으로, '잘 대비해야 한다'고 판단하실 것"이라고 답했다.

정 총리는 정치권 일각에서 자신의 대선 출마를 거론하는 데 대해 "적절치 않은 말씀들"이라며 "제게 주어진 짐이 굉장히 무겁고 감당하기 쉽지 않은데, 다른 생각을 하는 것은 온당하지 않다"고 했다.
