증권사, 증권담보대출 중단 줄이어…"빚 투자 급증 탓" (CG)

(서울=연합뉴스) 곽민서 기자 = 증시에 뛰어드는 개인 투자자들이 빚을 내 주식을 사들이는 경우가 늘면서 증권사들이 신용융자와 담보대출 등 신용공여를 잇달아 중단하고 있다.

23일 금융투자업계에 따르면 삼성증권[016360]은 "당사의 신용공여 한도가 소진돼 당분간 신용거래융자(신용매수)와 증권 담보대출 서비스를 이용할 수 없다"고 홈페이지를 통해 밝혔다.

해당 서비스는 향후 별도 공지가 있을 때까지 중단된다.

KB증권 역시 신용공여 한도 준수를 위해 주식·펀드·주가연계증권(ELS) 등의 예탁증권 담보대출을 중단한다고 전날 홈페이지를 통해 공지했다.

다만 KB증권의 경우 신용융자 매매는 가능하다.

이외에도 한국투자증권과 미래에셋대우[006800] 등이 앞서 증권 담보 대출 중단을 공지한 바 있다.

이는 일명 '동학 개미'라 불리는 개인 투자자들이 빚을 내서 주식에 투자하는 신용거래융자가 급증한 데 따른 것으로 풀이된다.

한 업계 관계자는 "요즘 동학 개미 운동 등으로 개인 투자자들이 시장에 직접 뛰어들면서 신용을 많이 쓰는 편이다"라며 "증권사 입장에서는 선제적으로 한도를 조절할 필요가 있다"고 말했다.

자본시장법에 따르면 자기자본 3조원 이상의 대형 증권사인 종합금융투자사업자(종투사)의 신용공여 한도는 자기자본의 200% 이내(100%는 중소기업·기업금융업무 관련 신용공여로 한정)로 제한된다.
