이집트 법원, '틱톡' 유명여성들에 징역형…"가족 가치 훼손"

(카이로=연합뉴스) 노재현 특파원 = 이집트에서 동영상 공유 애플리케이션인 '틱톡'(TikTok)으로 유명한 여성들이 징역형을 선고받았다.

이집트 수도 카이로의 경제법원은 27일(현지시간) 틱톡에서 영향력이 큰 여성 하닌 호삼(20)과 마와다 엘라드흠(22)에게 가족의 가치를 훼손한다는 이유로 각각 징역 2년과 벌금 30만 이집트파운드(약 2천250만원)를 선고했다고 이집트 언론 알아흐람과 AP통신이 보도했다.

호삼과 엘라드흠은 각각 이번 판결에 불복해 항소할 예정이다.

두 여성은 틱톡 동영상으로 주목을 받아왔다.

이들이 게시한 영상은 차에서 화장하거나 부엌에서 춤추는 장면, 낯선 사람과 농담하는 모습 등 다양하다.

엘라드흠은 틱톡 '팔로워'가 310만명이나 되고 올해 5월 14일 체포됐다.

그녀의 변호사는 "엘라드흠은 법원에서 울고 있었다"며 "징역 2년과 벌금 30만 이집트파운드는 정말 가혹하다"고 말했다.

틱톡 팔로워가 120만명인 호삼은 올해 4월 21일 풍기문란 등의 혐의로 체포됐다.

앞서 이집트 경범죄법원은 지난달 27일 사회관계망서비스(SNS)를 통해 외설적인 동영상을 올렸다는 이유로 벨리댄서 사마 엘마스리(42)에게 징역 3년과 벌금 30만 이집트파운드(약 2천200만원)를 선고했다.

당시 법원은 엘마스리가 이집트 내 가족의 가치를 위반하고 부도덕한 행위를 하려고 SNS를 이용했다고 지적했다.

이집트 법원이 SNS 스타들에게 잇달아 징역형을 선고한 것은 보수적인 사회 분위기를 반영한다.

이집트 국민은 대부분 이슬람 수니파 신도다.

특히 압델 파타 엘시시 이집트 대통령이 2014년 취임한 뒤 권위주의적 통치로 언론 및 표현의 자유가 크게 제약된다는 평가를 받는다.
