(여수=연합뉴스) 형민우 기자 = 전남 여수시는 권오봉 시장이 중앙 부처를 방문해 섬 박람회 국제행사 승인 등 지역 현안 사업을 건의했다고 27일 밝혔다.

권 시장은 이날 기획재정부를 방문해 경도 해양관광단지 진입도로 개설과 화태∼백야 국도 77호선 건설, 광양항 낙포부두 재개발 사업, 여수국가산단 공업용수 확보, 여수 석유화학 안전체험장 건립, 여수 해양기상과학관 건립 등 현안 사업을 건의했다.

이어 행정안전부를 방문해 '2026 여수세계섬박람회' 개최 당위성을 피력하고 국제행사 승인과 정부 지원을 요청했다.

권 시장은 "지역경제 회복과 현안 사업의 원활한 추진을 위해 국비 확보는 필수"라며 "예산 심의가 마무리되는 11월까지 정부 부처와 국회를 방문해 국비를 확보하겠다"고 밝혔다.
