준법위 워크숍…독일 지멘스 초청해 사례 공유도

삼성 준법감시위는 이날 경기 용인시 삼성인력개발원에서 워크숍을 개최했다고 밝혔다.

김지형 위원장을 비롯한 준법감시위 위원 6명, 준법위와 협약을 맺은 삼성그룹 7개 계열사(전자·전기·SDI·SDS·생명·화재·물산) 컴플라이언스(준법) 팀장과 실무자 등 50여명이 참석했다.

김 위원장은 "내가 '알고 있다고 생각하는 것'과 '실제로 아는 것'의 불일치를 줄여가는 과정이 소통"이라며 "삼성 준법·윤리경영의 과거와 미래를 보는 시각에도 차이가 있을 수 있는데 위원회는 이러한 시각들이 서로 만나 소통하면서 새로운 변화의 길을 모색하자"고 말했다.

오전에는 대검 차장 출신 봉욱 위원이 '세계 1위 기업-준법이 생명이다'를 주제로 기업 수사 사례, 기업이 준수해야 할 글로벌 기준 등 내용을 담은 강연을 한 뒤 참석자들은 삼성 준법 강화에 대해 토론했다.

오후에는 외부 전문가로 초청된 박종근 지멘스코리아 윤리경영실장이 구체적인 준법활동 실천을 주제로 특강했다. 참석자들은 지멘스의 사례를 공유하고 삼성이 배워야 할 실천 방안에 대해 토론을 이어갔다.

독일에 본사를 둔 글로벌 기업 지멘스는 분식회계, 뇌물 등 위법 행위로 2006년 벌금 100억유로(약 13조7천억원)를 부과받았고, 회사의 신뢰도에 큰 타격을 입은 바 있다.

지멘스는 이 사건을 계기로 준법경영을 대대적으로 강화, 2017년 포브스가 선정한 '세계에서 가장 존경받는 기업' 1위에 오르는 등 체질 개선에 성공했다는 평가를 받고 있다.

박종근 실장은 "지멘스가 위기를 극복한 단초는 사실을 인정하고 책임을 수용하고, 철저한 내부조사를 위해 숙련된 전문가를 고용해 실질적 개혁을 시행한 것"이라며 "결국 최고 경영진의 준법경영 의지가 가장 중요하다"고 강조했다.
