서울시설공단, 방치된 시립묘지 분묘 400여기 비운다

(서울=연합뉴스) 임화섭 기자 = 서울시설공단(이사장 조성일, www.sisul.or.kr)은 시립묘지의 분묘 중 방치된 400여기를 올해 10월에 비우기로 했다고 31일 밝혔다.

공단은 재작년부터 서울시가 운영하는 용미리1묘지, 망우리묘지, 벽제리묘지, 내곡리묘지에 대한 일제 조사를 진행해 왔으며, 이번에 경기 고양시 벽제동 소재 벽제리묘지와 경기 남양주시 진전읍 소재 내곡리묘지에 있는 400여기를 개장(改葬)키로 했다.

개장이란 매장된 시신이나 유골을 다른 분묘 또는 봉안시설에 옮기거나 화장 또는 자연장을 하는 것을 가리킨다.

개장은 묘적부 확인, 연고자 신고 안내, 개장 공고 등 절차에 따라 진행된다.

공단은 신고 안내와 두 차례에 걸친 개장 공고 이후에도 연고자가 나타나지 않는 분묘를 개장한 후 화장을 거쳐 유골을 봉안시설에 5년간 안치하고, 그 후에는 산골(散骨·화장된 유골을 뿌림)할 예정이다.

공단은 분묘의 연고자들에게 다시 한번 묘지를 확인해 달라고 당부했다.
