(포항=연합뉴스) 손대성 기자 = 경북 포항공항에 정기 여객기 운항이 재개된다.

16일 포항시에 따르면 포항∼김포, 포항∼제주 노선에 진에어가 31일부터 여객기를 운항할 예정이다.

진에어는 B737-800(189석) 항공기를 투입한다.

이 여객기는 하루에 포항∼김포 노선을 1회 왕복하고 포항∼제주노선을 2회 왕복한다.

대한항공은 포항∼제주 노선에 여객기를 운항해왔으나 지난 2월 28일부터 운항을 잠정 중단했다.

4월 말부터 5월 초까지 징검다리 연휴 때에만 일시적으로 운항했다.

이강덕 시장은 "진에어 취항을 통해 주민 항공교통편이 개선되고 외국으로 나가기 어려운 수도권 관광객을 경북 동해안권으로 유치하는 데 큰 역할을 할 것으로 본다"고 말했다.
