미국 카드 소지자 3명중 1명꼴 카드 한도 줄어

(서울=연합뉴스) 경수현 기자 = 신용카드를 보유한 미국인 3명 중 1명꼴로 최근 두달간 신용 한도가 축소되고 4명 중 1명꼴로 비자발적인 카드 정지를 당했다는 조사 결과가 22일(현지시간) 나왔다.

미국의 온라인 카드 정보회사인 컴페어카즈(CompareCards)는 신용카드 보유자 1천3명을 상대로 설문 조사한 결과 응답자의 34%가 최근 60일 동안 1개 이상 카드의 한도가 축소됐다고 답했다고 밝혔다.

또 25%는 카드 발행사에 의해 카드가 정지됐다고 답했다.

이 업체는 미국인 7천만명이 카드 한도 축소나 정지를 당한 셈이라고 설명했다.

카드 한도 축소나 정지의 이유로는 신용 점수 하락, 연체 등이 꼽혔다.

이와 관련 야후 뉴스는 시장 조사 업체인 피닉스 시너지스틱스가 과거에 벌인 유사한 조사 결과와 비교해 2008년 글로벌 금융위기 때보다 카드 한도 축소나 비자발적인 카드 정지가 더욱 늘어난 것이라고 전했다.

당시 조사에서는 6명 중 1명이 카드 한도 축소나 카드 정지를 당한 것으로 답했다.
