우크라서 인질극…"무장 남성, 버스승객 20명 붙잡고 폭파 위협"

(모스크바=연합뉴스) 유철종 특파원 = 우크라이나 서부 도시에서 21일(현지시간) 무장한 40대 남성이 최대 20명이 탄 노선버스 안에서 승객들을 붙잡고 인질극을 벌이고 있다고 우크라이나와 러시아 언론들이 보도했다.

보도에 따르면 이날 오전 우크라이나 서부 볼린주(州) 도시 루츠크에서 자신을 막심 플로호이라고 소개한 남성(45)이 승객들이 탄 노선버스를 탈취했다.

버스에는 10~20명의 승객이 타고 있으며, 인질범은 수류탄과 총을 포함한 각종 무기와 폭발물을 갖고 있다고 경찰은 전했다.

인질범은 버스에 폭탄을 설치했으며, 도시 다른 지점에도 폭탄이 설치돼 있다고 주장하면서 여차하면 폭파하겠다고 위협했다.

그는 경찰에 직접 전화를 걸어 인질을 붙잡고 있다고 밝혔으나 구체적 요구 조건을 제시하지는 않은 것으로 전해졌다.

인질범은 그러나 자신의 유튜브 계정을 통해선 사법부, 정부 기관, 검찰, 의회, 교회 수장들이 모두 스스로 합법적 테러리스트들이라고 인정하는 글을 유튜브에 올리라고 요구했다고 현지 언론은 전했다.

그는 "24명의 입에서 나온 진실이 수백명의 목숨을 구할 것"이라면서 자신의 요구가 받아들여지지 않으면 모두 폭사할 것이라고 경고했다.

범인은 진압 요원들이 버스로 접근하면 무기를 사용하겠다고 위협하면서 두차례 경찰을 향해 총을 쏘고 수류탄을 던지기도 했으나 수류탄은 불발됐다고 현지 언론은 보도했다.

보안당국은 인질극이 벌어지는 주변 지역을 봉쇄하고 범인과 협상을 벌이고 있다고 밝혔다. 주변 건물 지붕에는 저격병들이 배치됐다.

현지 경찰은 인질범이 러시아 남부 오렌부르크주 태생의 막심 크리보슈라고 전하면서 그가 막심 플로호이란 가명을 쓴다고 소개했다.

크리보슈는 강도·사기·갈취 등의 범죄로 두 차례에 걸쳐 약 10년 동안 복역한 바 있으며, 복역 중 국가의 범죄에 대해 논하는 '범죄자의 철학'이란 책을 쓰기도 했다고 경찰은 전했다.

그는 또 강제로 정신병원 치료를 받은 전력도 있는 것으로 알려졌다.

볼로디미르 젤렌스키 우크라이나 대통령은 인질극 상황에 대해 보고 받았다면서 상황을 통제하고 있다고 밝혔다.
