독일 2분기 GDP 10.1% 감소…1970년 통계 집계 후 최대 낙폭

(베를린=연합뉴스) 이광빈 특파원 = 독일의 2분기 국내총생산(GDP)이 신종 코로나바이러스 감염증(코로나19) 확산 사태로 전분기 대비 10.1% 감소했다고 독일 연방통계청이 30일 발표했다

이는 글로벌 금융위기 당시인 2009년 1분기에 기록한 마이너스 4.7%보다 더 저조한 수치로, 1970년 관련 통계가 집계된 후 가장 가파른 하락 폭이다.

코로나19 사태로 기업투자와 수출, 개인 소비 등이 모두 급격히 위축된 데 따른 것이다.

독일은 지난 3월 중순부터 국경을 폐쇄하고 공공생활을 통제해 사실상 경제가 제 기능을 하지 못했다.

지난달부터 공공생활 통제가 상당히 풀리면서 경제 활동이 회복되고 있으나, 여전히 코로나19 확산 사태 이전과 비교해 상당히 위축된 상태다.

올해 초까지 5% 수준을 보이던 실업률은 지난 7월 7.8%까지 치솟았다.

이 정도 실업률도 독일 정부가 기업의 단축근무 실시에 따라 줄어드는 노동자의 임금을 상당 부분 보상해 해고를 상당히 방어한 결과다.

지난 1분기 GDP는 당초 2.2%에서 2.0% 감소한 것으로 수정됐다.

독일 경제는 3분기에 회복세에 들어설 전망이다.

독일경제연구소(DIW)는 전날 3분기에 독일 경제가 전분기에 비해 3% 성장할 것이라고 예상했다.

독일경제연구소는 코로나19 확산 사태로 인한 침체를 만회하는데 2년 정도 걸릴 것으로 예상했다.
