(서울=연합뉴스) 이효석 기자 = 네이버 비즈니스 플랫폼(NBP)은 신개념 하이브리드 클라우드 서비스인 '뉴로클라우드(Neurocloud)'를 출시한다고 23일 밝혔다.

뉴로클라우드는 NBP가 준비한 '서비스형 클라우드'(Cloud as a Service·CaaS)다.

기업 고객이 뉴로클라우드를 도입하면, 퍼블릭 클라우드인 네이버 클라우드 플랫폼(NCP)과 기업 자체 클라우드 환경이 유기적으로 연결돼 하이브리드 클라우드가 구축된다.

고객사 전산실이나 데이터센터에 전용 하드웨어가 설치되고, 해당 구역이 NCP의 한 리전(Region)이 되는 셈이다.

뉴로클라우드는 고객사의 물리적 상황에 맞게 두 가지 하드웨어 타입을 제공한다.

데이터센터나 전산실을 이미 보유한 고객에게는 랙(Rack) 타입을 제공하고, 별도의 전산 공간이 없는 고객에게는 8개 랙 외에 공조·전기시설까지 구비된 컨테이너형 데이터센터를 통째로 제공한다.

NBP는 이날 오전 온라인 미디어데이를 개최해 뉴로클라우드의 개념과 특징·장점을 설명했다.

NBP는 "뉴로클라우드는 퍼블릭 클라우드인 NCP와 동일한 운영 환경을 제공하기 때문에 관리가 용이하다"면서 "고객사의 기존 보안·관리 정책을 유지할 수 있으며, NBP 클라우드 전문가가 기술 지원으로 장애 등에 즉각 대처한다"고 설명했다.

NBP 이은수 수석은 "전산 보안이 중요한 금융사, 데이터센터 활용도를 높여야 하는 공공기관, 계열사가 많은 대기업, 네트워크 지연을 줄여야 하는 제조기업, 보안이 중요한 연구소나 국방 기관 등이 뉴로클라우드에 적합하다"고 말했다.

이 수석은 '아마존웹서비스(AWS), 오라클 등 국내 시장을 선점한 외산 클라우드와 차별점이 무엇이냐'는 질문에 "타사는 솔루션 형태로 제공하지만 우리는 클라우드 플랫폼 자체를 CaaS로 판매한다"며 "필요한 서비스를 취사선택할 수 있다"고 답했다.

NBP 한상영 상무는 '카카오 등 다른 토종 클라우드와 차별점이 무엇이냐'는 질문에 "NBP는 처음부터 글로벌 진출을 염두에 두면서 글로벌 리전도 6곳 설치했고, 사업 안정화 단계에 접어들었다"면서 "안정된 플랫폼 기반으로 글로벌 확장을 추진 중"이라고 말했다.

한 상무는 '목표하는 국내 점유율이 있느냐'는 질문에는 "네이버가 구글로부터 국내 검색 시장을 지켰듯이 (클라우드 시장에서도) 1위를 목표로 노력하고자 한다"고 덧붙였다.
