(공주·대전=연합뉴스) 김소연 기자 = 공주대와 한남대가 신종 코로나바이러스 감염증(코로나19)으로 1학기 대부분 온라인 수업을 받은 학생들에게 장학금 형식으로 등록금 일부를 반환하기로 했다.

공주대는 1학기 등록금 실 납입액의 10%를 돌려주는 '코로나19 특별장학금'을 지급한다고 21일 밝혔다.

등록금 평균 납입액이 165만원인 점을 고려해 장학금 상한액은 16만5천원으로 정했다.

그만큼 2학기 등록금이 감면된다.

8월 졸업 대상자에게는 직접 송금해주기로 했다.

원성수 공주대 총장은 "학교 구성원 모두가 합심해 코로나19에 적극 대응하고 있다"며 "특별 장학금 지급으로 학생들의 어려움이 조금이라도 해소되기를 바란다"고 말했다.

한남대도 재학생들에게 20만원씩 코로나19 특별 장학금을 주기로 했다.

한남대는 총학생회와 8차례 간담회를 열어 전날 지급 규모와 기준, 방법 등을 결정했다.

다음 달 중 전체 학부생 1만1천여명에게 10만원씩 특별장학금을 일괄 지급하고, 나머지 10만원은 2학기 등록금에서 감면하기로 했다.

대전에서 전체 학부생에게 코로나19 특별 장학금을 지급한 것은 목원대(1인당 10만원)에 이어 두 번째다.

이광섭 한남대 총장은 "대학 재정이 어려운 상황이지만 학업 장려, 고통 분담 차원에서 특별 장학금을 지급하기로 했다"며 "총학생회와 오랜 대화 끝에 합의해 의미가 더 크다"고 말했다.
