러시아 코로나19 확산세 여전…"9월 재확산 가능성" 경고도

일일 신규확진 11일째 5천명대, 누적 확진 83만명 넘어 세계4위

(모스크바=연합뉴스) 유철종 특파원 = 러시아의 신종 코로나바이러스 감염증(코로나19) 확산세가 크게 수그러들지 않고 있는 가운데 9월 재확산 우려도 제기되고 있다.

30일(현지시간) 일일 신규 확진자는 11일째 5천명대에 머물며 추가 하락세로 이어지지 않고 있다. 누적 확진자는 83만명을 넘어 미국, 브라질, 인도에 이어 여전히 세계 4위 규모다.

러시아 정부의 코로나19 유입·확산방지 대책본부는 이날 "지난 하루 동안 모스크바를 포함한 전국 84개 지역에서 5천509명이 새로 감염돼 누적 확진자가 83만4천499명으로 늘었다"고 밝혔다.

러시아의 신규 확진자는 지난 4월 말 이후 급증하기 시작해 5월 초순에는 한때 1만1천명을 넘어 정점을 찍었다.

이후 점진적 하락세로 돌아서 지난달 26일 6천명대(6천800명)로 내려온 뒤 24일 동안이나 비슷한 수준을 유지하다가 이달 20일에야 5천명대(5천940명)로 떨어졌다.

하지만 이후에도 5천명대 수준이 열흘 이상 이어지며 큰 폭의 감소세는 나타나지 않고 있다.

전문가들은 방역 제한조치가 크게 완화된 가운데 주민들이 마스크 착용, 사회적 거리두기 등의 기본 방역 수칙도 제대로 지키지 않으면서 감염병 전파가 계속되고 있는 것으로 보고 있다.

이날 수도 모스크바에서는 678명의 신규 확진자가 나와 누적 확진자가 24만664명으로 집계됐다.

전국의 코로나19 사망자는 하루 동안 129명이 늘어 모두 1만3천802명으로 증가했다.

코로나19 대규모 확산 상황이 여전한 가운데 각 지역 정부가 제한조치를 속속 해제해 재확산 우려도 남아있다.

상트페테르부르크의 '표트르 대제 정치 대학' 학자들은 외국 유학생들이 러시아로 돌아오면서 9월에 모스크바나 제2도시 상트페테르부르크 등 대도시들의 발병률이 높아질 수 있다고 경고했다.

학자들은 수학적 모델을 이용한 분석 결과를 토대로 새 학기가 시작된 뒤인 9월 10~14일까지 두 도시의 발병률이 15~20% 정도 높아질 수 있다고 예상했다.

다음 달부터 시작되는 국제선 항공편 운항 재개도 재확산을 부추기는 요인이 될 수 있다는 분석이 나온다.

블라디미르 푸틴 대통령도 전날 주재한 코로나19 대응 정부 화상회의에서 "전반적으로 국가 전체 상황이 안정돼 가고 있다"면서도 하지만 "상황이 (좋은 쪽이든 나쁜 쪽이든) 어느 쪽으로도 돌아설 수 있기 때문에 안심하고 긴장을 풀면서 의사들의 권고를 잊어버릴 어떤 근거도 없다"고 지적했다.

그는 지역 정부 수장들이 전문가들의 권고에 근거해 제한 조치들을 점진적으로 신중하게 해제해 나갈 것을 주문하면서 제한 조치 복원은 어떻게든 피해야 한다고 강조했다.
