브라질 코로나19 사망자 첫 보고 4개월 만에 8만명 눈앞

누적 확진자 210만명 육박…신규 확진 이틀 연속 3만명 밑돌아

(상파울루=연합뉴스) 김재순 특파원 = 브라질에서 신종 코로나바이러스 감염증(코로나19) 사망자가 8만명에 육박하고 있다. 신규 확진자는 이틀 연속 3만명을 밑돌았다.

19일(현지시간) 브라질 보건부에 따르면 코로나19 누적 확진자는 전날보다 2만3천529명 많은 209만8천389명으로 늘었다.

신규 확진자는 최근 3만∼4명대를 유지하다가 전날(2만8천532명)에 이어 이날도 이틀 연속 2만명대로 낮아졌다.

사망자는 전날보다 716명 많은 7만9천488명으로 집계됐다.

브라질에서는 지난 3월 17일 첫 사망자가 보고됐으며 4개월 만에 8만명 돌파를 눈앞에 두고 있다.

전체 확진자 가운데 64만7천여명은 치료 중이고 137만1천여명은 회복됐다.

전국 27개 주 가운데 남동부 상파울루주의 확진자가 41만5천여명으로 가장 많고 북동부 세아라주가 14만6천972명, 남동부 리우데자네이루주가 13만8천524명, 북부 파라주가 13만7천484명, 북동부 바이아주가 12만2천160명으로 뒤를 잇고 있다.

사망자 수는 상파울루(1만9천732명), 리우데자네이루주(1만2천114명), 세아라주(7천178명) 등 순으로 많다.
