인천 수돗물 유충 17마리 추가 발견…발생 추이는 감소세

(인천=연합뉴스) 강종구 기자 = 인천 수돗물에서 유충이 완전히 사라지지 않고 계속 추가로 발견되고 있다.

18일 인천시에 따르면 지난 16일 오후 6시부터 17일 오후 6시까지 유충 민원 신고가 104건 접수돼 현장 조사를 시행한 결과 서구 16곳, 영종도 1곳 등 17곳에서 유충이 추가 발견됐다.

이로써 지난 9일 유충 관련 민원이 처음 발생한 이후 누적 신고 건수는 357건, 유충 발견 건수는 128건으로 늘어났다.

다만 유충 발생 소식이 알려진 뒤 주민 신고 건수가 매일 늘어나는 것과는 대조적으로 유충 발견 건수는 감소하고 있다.

유충 발견 건수는 지난 15일 55건으로 최고치를 기록한 뒤 16일 21건, 17일 17건으로 감소 추세다.

인천시는 서구 공촌정수장 활성탄 여과지에 날벌레가 알을 낳으면서 발생한 깔따구 유충들이 관로에 남아있다가 계속 배출되고 있는 것으로 보고 있다.

시는 정수장·배수지 청소를 강화하고 하루 20t에 가까운 물을 방류하며 수질 정상화에 주력하고 있다.
