여권 연합, 250석의 70% 차지…반군·난민은 투표 불참

(이스탄불=연합뉴스) 김승욱 특파원 = 바샤르 알아사드 시리아 대통령이 이끄는 집권 바트당이 반군 세력을 제외한 총선에서 압승했다.

시리아 선거관리위원회는 지난 19일(현지시간) 치러진 총선 투표 결과를 집계한 결과 바트당과 여권 연합인 '국가통합' 소속 후보들이 250석 가운데 177석을 차지했다고 22일 밝혔다. 이는 전체 의석의 70.8%에 해당한다.

사메르 잠리크 선거관리위원장은 "투표율은 33%로 2016년의 57%에 비해 24%포인트 떨어졌다"고 말했다.

시리아는 2011년 시리아 내전 발발 이후 러시아와 이란이 지원하는 정부군과 터키가 지원하는 반군으로 양분돼 무력 충돌을 빚고 있다.

시리아 정부는 지난 19일 북부 일부 지역을 제외하고 정부의 통치력이 미치는 지역에서만 약 7천 곳의 투표소를 설치하고 총선을 진행했다.

그러나 600만명 이상으로 추산되는 시리아 난민과 반군 지역의 시리아인은 총선에 참여하지 않았다.

주요 야당인 시리아국가연합은 트위터를 통해 "알아사드와 러시아·이란이 자행한 테러의 결과로 수백만 명의 시리아인이 쫓겨나거나 두려움에 떨며 투표했다"고 비판했다.

알아사드 대통령은 지난 2000년 아버지인 하페즈 알아사드 전 대통령의 뒤를 이어 대통령직에 오른 이후 지금까지 권좌를 지키고 있다.
